Redball, LLC began very simply in 1984. Steve Claussen was farming and saw a need to monitor the application of liquid fertilizer and herbicide. Steve and his brother Bob called on their farming and engineering backgrounds to create a site gauge that would allow the farmer to visually monitor the proper flow rate of liquid applications. As liquid flows through the clear plastic columns, it carries the weighed red balls to a specific level. As long as the red balls are at the same level, the farmer knows the liquid is being applied equally and that there are no plugs in the line or nozzle. They named this invention the Redball Spray Monitor, and they were in business.

The first office was a card table and telephone set up in the basement of the Lange Associates building in downtown Benson, Minnesota. Redball began with a staff of five employees. Duties included answering phones and sorting the red balls by weight.

In 1987, Redball moved to its present location on East US Hwy 12 just outside of Benson. This location allowed room for the company to grow. Over the years, the company has expanded its manufacturing capabilities to meet the increasing demand for its products.

Today, Redball manufactures an innovative line of sprayers, fertilizer applicators, and strip till equipment that is sold throughout the United States, South America, Europe, Australia and other parts of the world.

This is far from where Steve Claussen began. It started as one farmer's need and has grown into a business that manufactures and sells its products internationally. The goal has always been to develop products which are cost-effective and farmer-friendly. Redball products have been developed from a commitment to deliver functional equipment that is durable, reliable, and practical to use.

Redball is joined by Custom Roto-Mold and Willmar Fabrication to form the Claussen Companies, three diverse enterprises sharing a common vision.
